A graduate with high honors from the University of Illinois, he earned his law degree at the Boston University School of Law in 1981. He is a long-standing member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives as well as a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the North Suburban Bar Association, and the Northwest Suburban Bar Association. Attorney Kornfeld serves on the board of the Federal Bar Association, Social Security section, and is an editor of the Social Security newsletter.
